Alpine Seruvalsar Lake, are you joining us?

Seruvalsar Lake which is also known as Sereolsar Lake is basically a high altitude lake that lies in the outer Seraj Valley of the Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. The lake is approximately 3,100 metres above the sea level.

      There are some other stories as well that says, Lord Shiva stayed at this lake for some time in search of Lord Vishnu. While Lord Shiva was in search of Lord Vishnu, meanwhile, his attendant Nandi drank some water from this place and as a token of love, Lord Shiva blessed this area with plenty of water.

       The water of this charismatic lake is so crystalline and clear that gives such a pleasing sight to eyes. It is often said by the people that the water of the lake have some medicinal properties.you want to experience the enchanting beauty and picturesque view in real, then Seruvalsar Lake is the best place for you to explore all these things. This lake is known for its ethereal and magnificent charm which is not compared to any other lakes. The lush green mountains, thick vegetation of alpine forests, and the trees of various species add a natural touch to this place.

As you move few steps further, you will find a small temple of Buddha Nagini that is really popular among the localites. Many devotees come to this lake especially for this temple. They worship in this small temple and offer ghee to the deity placed inside the temple. It is believed that the lake is very deep and Budhi Nagin who is the mother of all naag deities or goddess of snakes herself lived in a golden palace situated at the bottom of the lake. A small temple to Budhi Nagin overlooks this beautiful lake from its North side.This place is best for nature lovers and adventure freaks as it is enclosed by different kinds of plants and flowers. The Seruvalsar lake delivers a sense of total spiritual blissfulness to the travelers. It is considered as one of the most important spot of tourist destination in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

You can reach here by trekking which starts from Jalori pass that is 5km away from the lake. It will take around 2 hours to complete the trek. During the winter season, Sereolsar experience snowfall up to 5-8 ft. So, if you want to come here and enjoy to the fullest, then visit during summers. For basic accommodation, small rest houses have been built so that visitors come here and take some rest. This is generally a one day trip from Kullu if started early in the morning.

If you want to spend some time alone, then you can just sit by the lake and admire the ethereal beauty of the surroundings. You can also come here along with your family and enjoy the moments of solitude and peace far away from the chaos of the city. In winters, this place will give you more mystical view and when the ray of light falls on the lake, it will become more sparkling and appealing. Seruvalsar Lake is really perfect for walks, boating, and for fun-filled picnics. The mesmerizing view of the surreal landscapes coupled with the crystalline lake, makes this place a must visit spectacle for tourists. You can visit this place via different routes and that too without any hassle. You can also see the reflection of snow-covered peaks and lofty mountains from this really attractive Seruvalsar lake that carry over the entire valley.
