Srinagar

Picturesque ,enchanting capital city of Jammu and Kashmir  is renowned for its  beauty. The city is surrounded by mountain peaks, lush green valleys, glistening  lakes  temples and  beautiful  Mughal gardens. Staying in houseboat and moving in  shikaras watching the  beauty of  lakes is amazing experience . The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, is situated in the heart of the Kashmir Valley with the Nagin and the Dal Lake adding to its beauty.
Kashmir Valley is famous for selling fine quality of dry walnuts, raisins, blueberries, cashews, Kashmiri red chilies, and spices like cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and cardamom. What's must to be brought home is of course Kashmiri Kesar. You will also tempt a lot  things to buy for your family and friends. Pashmina shawls are the  best  example of  Kashmiri  craft work.
This is something interesting for all of you as here we shall talk about the sabji walas who have their vegetable market floating on the mesmerizing Dal Lake. It has an enchanting variety of organic vegetables. You shall have to wake at the crack of dawn to catch a glimpse of it at 4 am and then it continues only up to 6 am.

People usually book the houseboats of Dal Lake and the first thing the next morning is the sound of the morning prayers coming from the mosque which gives an indication that the market is about to open. Shikaras shall carry you to the market but it is always wise to book a Shikara beforehand as finding one in the morning could be a tough job! Why are we stressing on the Shikaras?

Well, you shall thank us for the wonderful views it shall present you with while on the way. The migrating birds chattering in unison, the magnificent view of the horizon and the serene music of the Dal Lake shall transport you into a beautiful world. You shall get to see hundreds of boats decorated with vegetables of vibrant colours, old Kashmiri women will be seen in the market along with their grandchildren and the best part is the sabzi walas flaunting their traditional attires.

And definitely, do not miss their banter in their Kashmiri language, as it highlights the true 'Kashmiriyat' feeling. It is a wholesale vegetable market where the shopkeepers buy vegetables from the farmers and later sell it all in the market.

To have  best ever  experience in Kashmir  don't  hesitate to contact us.
